Note on quality
This is a working version of the dictionary. Its content is being completed and corrected.
The Polish definitions are verbatim quotations from three books by Marian Mazur; the English definitions
are translations of them. For each definition we give the source: the work, the year of publication and the
page.
In Jakościowa teoria informacji (‘A Qualitative Theory of Information’, 1970) Mazur numbered his
definitions — 141 definitions of the dictionary come from there.
Cybernetyczna teoria układów samodzielnych (‘A Cybernetic Theory of Autonomous Systems’, 1966) and Cybernetyka i charakter
(‘Cybernetics and Character’, 1976) do not number their definitions; 172 definitions from these books are
quoted from the running text, word for word. We calculated the page numbers from the scans; in one case the page
could not be established and is not given.
The English and Chinese translations are machine translations and are under review. Until the review is
complete, the Polish wording is authoritative.
